SWAT Team Called After Son Assaults Father

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

A 45-year-old Bradley Road man was bitten and punched by his 21-year-old son the evening of Aug. 12.

The son had earlier gotten into a fight with his girlfriend (neither wanted to press charges in that incident); the father and son then argued over that relationship. The father was transported to St. John Medical Center.

The suspect was believed to be in the house with access to firearms and as a result, a police perimeter was set up and  the Westshore Enforcement Bureau Task Force (SWAT Team) was activated.

Before the Task Force could assemble, the suspect was found walking through backyards and arrested for felonious assault.

Also in the blotters:
A $500 cell phone was taken from a Viking Pkwy business between 7:30 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 10. It belonged to a Broadview Heights business’ woman customer. There are no suspects.
