Police Investigate Break-Ins On Southwood Drive, Oakwood Lane

One home was broken into and three garages were entered last week.

Police are investigating break-ins at three garages and one home on Southwood Drive and Oakwood Lane.

An unknown suspect or suspects got into an Oakwood Lane garage at about 10:30 p.m. June 21 through an unlocked pedestrian door. Upon hearing someone trying to force the door to the laundry room through the garage, the resident yelled from the second floor, and the suspect left. Nothing was taken.

A Southwood Drive home was also entered some time between 2:30 and 11 p.m. the same day, while the owners were out of town. Their son discovered that the sliding door to the home had been forced open and the house was ransacked. The owners will conduct an inventory of what is missing when they return.

While checking the area, an officer on patrol found that another garage on Southwood Drive had been entered during the night. The suspect had forced open a pedestrian door, but no attempt was made on the house and nothing was missing from the garage. The resident told police that the door had been intact when he went to bed at 10 p.m.

At about 6:15 a.m. the next day, an Oakwood Lane resident found that the pedestrian door to the garage had been kicked in some time after 9 p.m. June 21. Again, nothing was reported missing.
