Crocker Park Drug Deal Turns Into Armed Robbery

Four people are accused of using a BB gun to hold up a man Monday evening in Westlake

Westlake police arrested four men who are accused of robbing a man Monday evening during a drug deal gone awry in Crocker Park.

At 9 p.m., a North Ridgeville man reported that he had been robbed an hour earlier in a public parking garage on Vine Street. The parking garage is next to Dick's Sporting Goods.

Further investigation revealed that he had met an acquaintance there to buy marijuana, Westlake Police Capt. Guy Turner said.

That acquaintance -- 19-year-old Joseph Polomsky of Westlake -- pulled out a handgun and robbed him of cash, Turner said.

Polomsky was accompanied by a 17-year-old boy, as well as 20-year-old Darren Viets and 19-year-old Zachary Trigalet -- all of whom are from Westlake, police said.

All of the suspects were arrested later Monday evening at their own or other residences in Westlake.

Police recovered some of the stolen money, as well as the weapon -- which turned out to be a BB gun.

The juvenile has been transferred to the County Detention Home; the adult suspects are now in the county jail.

All suspects face recommended charges of robbery and possession of criminal tools.
