Police Catch Repeat Counterfeiter and More Crime

The following arrest information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Counterfeit $20 Bills Found Across Town

Westlake police discovered that a woman has been using counterfeit $20 bills around town after a Detroit Road gas station employee discovered a fake $20 April 16. Officers also took 36 more fake $20 bills from a woman at Giant Eagle April 17 as she was buying groceries. A Detroit Road pet store received another counterfeit $20 bill that same day. Police believe the same woman was involved in all three incidents.

Bicycle Stolen from Backyard

A $100 orange Verde Prism BMX bike was taken from the backyard of a Dover Center Road home between 5:30 p.m. April 15 and 7:30 a.m. on April 16. Police have no suspects.   

Purse Stolen from Porch

A Westown Boulevard woman’s purse was taken from her porch on April 16 at about 1:30 p.m. while she stepped inside for a short while. It contained misc. papers and a bank card. A female friend is a possible suspect.
