Police Blotter: Passerby Finds Pot Growing in Pots Along Railroad Tracks

Police find pot in pots near railroad
A passerby noticed marijuana plants in pots growing alongside the railroad tracks near Cahoon Road at about 7 p.m. Wednesday. Officers took three plastic pots with pot growing inside. Police have no suspects for the growers.
Two hundred pound elephant statue stolen

A Windsong Court resident reported that a 200-pound elephant statue was stolen from a yard some time between noon and 7 p.m. Wednesday. The elephant was one of a pair, and is valued at $200.

Police investigating the July 16 theft of a $100 bicycle from arrested the suspect and charged him with theft, criminal damaging, criminal tools and obstruction of justice in Juvenile Court. The 15-year-old Westlake boy had spray painted the bicycle black, and then hid it. The bicycle was returned to its owner.
