Police Blotter: Man Threatens Girlfriend, Angry Tenant Fights with Officers

Man Arrested for Threatening Girlfriend, Damaging Apartment

A 61-year-old Westlake woman called police after her on-again, off-again boyfriend threatened to kill her at about 7 p.m. Aug. 23. The 53-year-old man tore up their Detroit Road apartment, tearing a sliding door out of its frame and kicking in a bedroom door. Police arrested the man for domestic violence,  He was released the next day after a temporary protection order was issued.

iPod Stolen from Hotel Room

A 17-year-old Canadian girl reported her $300 iPod stolen from her hotel room on Crocker Road some time between 10 a.m. and about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 23. Police questioned a cleaning worker and a maintenance worker that had been in the room. Both allowed police to search their work areas, vehicles and their persons. Officers did not find the iPod.

Angry Tenant Fights with Landlord, Police Officers

Police arrested a 54-year-old Westlake woman after she got into an argument with her landlord at about 9:45 p.m. Aug. 21 at her Detroit Road apartment. The woman was pounding on her landlord’s door while shouting and swearing when officers got there. The woman started yelling at police too and slammed her door on an officer’s foot. Police arrested the woman, but not before a struggle. She repeatedly kicked one officer in the shins. On the way to the police station, she kicked the cruiser doors and banged her head on the parition in the car. She was charged with disorderly conduct intoxicated, disorderly conduct persisting resisting arrest and noise violation. She was released to her son early the next morning.

GPS Stolen from Unlocked Truck

Police have no suspects in the theft of a $150 GPS unit from an unlocked truck parked on Crocker Road. A business owner discovered it missing at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 24. He also found that the rear door on another truck had been pried open, but nothing was missing.
