Police Blotter: Man Assaults Ex-Girlfriend, Stolen Purse

Attempted Motorcycle Theft

An Illinois man staying at a Sperry Drive hotel found that someone had tried to steal his motorcycle at about 7:30 a.m. July 28. Police found that the front-end lock was damaged. Police have no suspects.

Woman Assaulted by Ex-Boyfriend at Motel

A Sandusky woman was assaulted by her 40-year-boyfriend, also of Sandusky, at about 5:45 a.m. July 31 at a Sperry Drive motel. The suspect had been arrested in Sandusky earlier in July for assaulting the same woman. He was under a temporary protection order forbidding him from being near the woman. Officers arrested him and charged him with domestic violence, temporary protection order violation and possession of marijuana. Rocky River Municipal Court issued a temporary protection order. The suspect posted bond on Aug. 1.

Woman’s Purse Is Stolen

A woman reported her purse missing at about 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4. The victim heard a noise coming from where she had the purse hidden at work on Clemens Road, but didn’t discover it was missing until later. Her credit card had been used at a grocery store in Avon for $503. The credit card was also declined for two other transactions. Police are continuing to investigate.
