Police Blotter: Guns, Cash Stolen From Home and Another Mummy Sighting

Westlake police also responded to a fight over taking out the trash at Taco Bell, mysteriously moved furniture and more in this week's incidents.

$31,000 In Cash, Guns, Jewelry and More Stolen From Home

Police have no suspects in a break-in at a home in the 28400 block of Stonegate Circle. The burglar or burglars came in through the back door and ransacked several rooms, taking $30,000 in cash, a .38 caliber revolver, two 9mm semiautomatic pistols, jewelry, two iPods and a video camera. The break-in was some time between 4:15 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. March 4. The total loss is about $31,000.

Another Mummy Sighting

A woman told police that she again saw a mummy at 2:42 a.m. March 3. The same woman reported seeing a mummy smoking in an SUV in a Bay Landings Driveway last week. Officers didn’t catch a glimpse of the risen dead.

No Suspects For Stolen Prescription Pills

Someone stole 42 prescription pills from a Fairview Park woman’s purse between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 3. The woman thinks it happened either while she was at work in the 800 block of Canterbury Rd. or at her doctor’s office in the 900 block of Clague Rd. Police do not have any suspects.

Flood, Not Break-In Moves Resident’s Furniture

A resident of Westhill Dr. returned home from a trip at 8:41 p.m. March 3 to find that his furniture had been moved around. The good news is that nothing was missing and police found no signs of a break-in. The bad news is that the man’s home had been flooded, which moved the furniture and caused water damage.

Protection Order Issued Over Fight At Taco Bell About Garbage

A 42-year-old Taco Bell employee threatened her manager after she asked the employee to take out the trash at 4:59 p.m. Feb. 28. An argument arose and the employee threatened violent action on her boss’s rear end and officers arrested the suspect. Rocky River Municipal Court issued a protection order the next morning and police released the employee.

iPad Stolen From Man’s Bally Total Fitness Locker

On March 1, a North Olmsted man told police that his iPad was stolen from his locker at Bally’s Total Fitness on Columbia Road. He said the $850 computer was taken on Feb. 27. Police have no suspects.

Police Arrest Lakewood Man for Threatening Apartment Residents

Police arrested a 42-year-old Lakewood man for punching and kicking an apartment door and threatening the people inside at 9:36 p.m. March 2 in the 1300 block of Marview Dr. The apartment residents told the man not to return and officers arrested him for disorderly conduct intoxicated. The man had already caused a scene at the apartment and had been escorted off the premises by police earlier that day.

Police Chase Drug Thief, Find Westlake Woman With Warrants

A man stole an unknown quantity of over-the-counter medications from the BP gas station at Columbia and Detroit roads at 1:56 p.m. March 5. A clerk gave police a description of the suspect’s vehicle and license plate. Police stopped the suspect on Interstate 90 in Rocky River. Officers did not find the stolen merchandise, but they did find a warrant for the 21-year-old driver from the Rocky River Police Department and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff. Police turned the driver over to Rocky River police. Westlake police released the man in the passenger seat at the scene.
