Police Blotter: Broken Windows, Stolen Purses and More

The following arrest information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction

Purses Stolen from Cars at Recreation Center

Two purses were stolen from vehicles parked at the the evening of Jan. 9. A Bay Village woman called police at about 8:15 p.m. to report that her front passenger window had been broken, and that her purse and cell phone were missing.

Police found that another car belonging to an Avon woman also had a broken window. The woman's purse had been taken, and one of her credit cards was used at an Avon gas station later that day. Gas station employees are looking for security footage of the transaction.

Store Window Shattered Overnight

The owner of a Center Ridge Road business found one of his windows had been broken at about 10:30 a.m. Jan. 9. He told police that it happened some time after 5 p.m. Jan. 8. No one got into the building and police have no suspects.

Girl Misses School, Breaks Curfew

A 15-year-old Westlake girl got in some trouble with her mother, and the Westlake police, after she stayed home from school Jan. 10. The girl claimed she was sick, but went out with her friends at about 6 p.m. Her mother called police at about 11:15 p.m. after she couldn't find her daughter. The girl came home 20 minutes later and police cited her for breaking curfew.
