Early Morning Drinking Lands Man in Jail

A 66-year-old Avon man may have had a little too much to drink with breakfast on March 28. Police arrested the man for operating a vehicle intoxicated at 10:46 a.m. after he hit a parked car at . A witness saw the driver hit another vehicle and then go into the hospital, but not until after he checked the damage on both cars. Police took him to jail where he blew a .114 blood alcohol level. Police also charged him with breath alcohol content over .08. Officers let him go with a sober adult later that afternoon.

Man Tries to Smuggle Steaks in Coat

A 42-year-old man got caught with meat in his coat at 12:19 p.m. March 28. The Elyria resident hid $73 of steak under his coat at , but was stopped by employees before he got away. Police arrested the man for attempted petty theft and released him that afternoon.

Two Brothers Arrested for Domestic Violence

Police arrested two Westlake brothers for domestic violence at 1:55 p.m. March 28 on Westown Boulevard. The pair denied any physical fighting, but their 60-year-old mother said they repeatedly shoved her when she tried to leave her apartment. The younger brother’s 19-year-old wife said the older brother pushed her into a wall. Police released both suspects the next day and issued temporary protection orders. Both brothers must live with a cousin in Avon as a condition of the bond.

Woman’s Friends Leave Her Behind at Dave & Buster’s

An intoxicated woman’s friends left her behind on a trip to at 1:26 a.m. April 2. The 28-year-old Cleveland resident was unable to get a ride home or pay for a taxi, so police arrested her for disorderly conduct intoxicated. Officers released her to a sober person at 4 a.m. that morning.

Theft From Home on Hollywood Drive

A Hollywood Drive resident reported the theft of $50 cash, jewelry, a $350 watch and a game system some time between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. March 30. Police believe the suspect came in through an unlocked door. Officers are looking at a former friend of the resident as a possible suspect.
