Police Ask Public to Help Identify Credit Card Thief

Anyone with information on this man should call Westlake police.

Westlake police are asking for help to identify a credit card thief. The suspect shown in the photo tried to use a stolen credit card at an Avon CVS Pharmacy Aug. 4, but become flustered when his sale was declined.

The clerk asked to see the man's card again for the $314 purchase and he handed her several different cards, none of which worked, according to Cpt. Guy Turner.

The suspect kept trying cards, using two other credit cards stolen from the same victim, charging more than $1,500 in merchandise and gift cards from Wal-Mart and Heinen's in Avon the same day, said the police report.

The credit card used . The victim reported her purse missing from a cabinet after she stepped away from her desk. Police showed her the suspect's photo, but she did not recognize him.
