Man Tasered after Threatening to Shoot Police from Roof

The following arrest information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Tasered a 30-year-old Park Place man after he charged officers at about 6 a.m. March 18.

Police had arrested the man earlier that morning for drunken driving, and when he got home, he started tearing up his house, according to police reports. He threatened to knock out his wife's teeth, and then brandished a BB rifle at a relative.

When the police arrived, the man was on his roof, where he threatened to shoot at the responding officers.

A police negotiator tried to talk the man down, but he ran back into the house through the second-floor porch. He charged officers, who then shocked him with a Taser. Officers later found cocaine in the man's hat.

Police arrested the man for domestic violence, inducing panic, drug possession and disorderly conduct intoxicated. They also notified Cuyahoga County Children's Services as there were five children inside the house during the incident.
