Man Claims He Paid $40 for Stolen Cadillac

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man tried to convince police that he got a really good deal on a car and instead ended up with a receiving stolen property charge.

Police recovered a 2005 Cadillac CTS that had been reported stolen from Virginia at about 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 15. When police talked to the driver, a 49-year-old homeless man, he said he had paid $40 for it.

He is now facing a receiving stolen property-motor vehicle charge. He was also wanted by New York parole authorities.
