Man Claims He Paid $40 for Stolen Cadillac

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man tried to convince police that he got a really good deal on a car and instead ended up with a receiving stolen property charge.

Police recovered a 2005 Cadillac CTS that had been reported stolen from Virginia at about 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 15. When police talked to the driver, a 49-year-old homeless man, he said he had paid $40 for it.

He is now facing a receiving stolen property-motor vehicle charge. He was also wanted by New York parole authorities.

There is no where to write about crime in Rocky River. In today PD burried in the Metro section is a story about Rocky River and the man shot and killed and the other victim shoot 3 times. Here are my thoughts..........very scary they do not know who did this...........Why was this not on the front page of the paper as there is an active investigation and RR needs all the informatio they can get to solve this murder. Yes people crime does happen in RR. -pam davis ghaster

In River, drugs really?? LOL We have these problems in our neighborhood in Rocky River in the Yacht Club Basin. RR Police is aware but the guy still conducts business on Riverdale Dr. People think living in RR you can keep your door unlocked not lock your car etc... and then wonder why someone broke in. In the last 6 months our neighborhood has been invaded by care and people who do not live here. pam ghaster
