Man Busts Through Closed Avon Road Barricade, Arrested in Next County

A 34-year-old Mentor man did not let the barricades on Avon Road slow him down one little bit at the evening of May 21. He was traveling eastbound in his 2011 Mazda 3 and when he decided to break on through to the other side.
Avon Road ends in Westlake on Bradley Road and has been closed for more than a year. The man was located by Avon Lake Police on Walker Road and arrested for OVI, Hit Skip, and Failure to Control by Westlake Police. He refused a breath test.
