Man Attacks, Bites People in Rude Awakening

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Some people are just not morning persons. But it usually doesn't lead to criminal charges.

A 19-year-old Westlake man did not take well to be awakened at 9:49 a.m. on Dec. 18 at his grandmother's Salem Parkway home. He began hitting his girlfriend and biting others in the house, then started punching holes in the wall and breaking stuff in the kitchen.

He was locked outside of the house, where Westlake Police arrested him.

The people he attacked declined to press charges, but his grandmother signed a criminal damaging complaint against him.

The cherry on the man's lousy-morning sundae? He missed his 10:30 a.m. appointment with his probation officer. Police reported that the man was on probation from 2011 convictions for theft and disorderly conduct.
