Lorain Men Find Trouble in Westlake

The following arrest information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two Lorain men are facing theft-related charges after being spotted by prowling around businesses and vehicles in the area of Ranney Parkway and Clemens Road in the early hours of June 11.

One man, 23 years old, was arrested for three counts of possessing criminal tools, three counts of criminal trespass and one count of receiving stolen property. He was arrested while riding an 18-speed Murray Eagle River bike and carrying a backpack, neither of which he had when officers spotted him walking with the other man near the Crocker Road-Clemens Road intersection a little earlier.

Westlake police have issued warrants against the other man, 36 years old and the first man's cousin, for two counts of possessing criminal tools, three counts of criminal trespass, theft and obstructing official business for making false statements about his whereabouts and activities that day.

The possessing criminal tools charges for both men stem from two-way radios, flashlights and hand tools each man had on them.
