Fatal Accident on Detroit Road Between Motorcycle, Car

David Millard, 56, of North Olmsted was pronounced dead after Life Flight to MetroHealth.

A North Olmsted motorcyclist is dead after a crash with a car at the intersection of Detroit Road and Settlers Reserve Way at about 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

David Millard, 56, was riding his motorcycle westbound on Detroit Road while a 17-year-old Westlake boy was driving northbound on Settlers Reserve in the car, police said.

According to Cpt. Guy Turner, preliminary indications are that the car drove into the intersection, and the motorcyclist laid his bike down and slid underneath the car.

A passing nurse stopped to help the victim, and when crews arrived, they took Millard to . He was taken by helicopter ambulance to MetroHealth, where he later died.

Millard's body has been turned over to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

An investigation is continuing into the cause of the crash.
