Elderly Man Attacked by Dogs

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An elderly Westlake man out for a walk ended up at the hospital after an attack by two dogs.

The 75-year-old man was walking on Sperry's Forge Trail around 4:30 p.m on Jan 10 when the two dogs, described by Westlake Police as American Bulldogs, charged him.

The man was treated for scrapes and a puncture wound at St. John Medical Center.

Police reported the dogs had escaped from a nearby garage. The city's Animal Control officer is doing follow-up in regards to the dogs shots and licenses, and how they ended up being at-large.
