Drunk Man ‘Intended to Put Woman in Hospital’: Police Blotters

Plus, fistfight at the middle school and stolen hubcaps.

This week in Westlake’s police blotters:

 A 50-year-old NC man was arrested for Disorderly Conduct/Intoxication after a loud argument with his fiancé on April 14 shortly after 1 a.m.  They had been drinking in Westlake while visiting the area; when they returned to their Sperry Drive motel, they argued over each other’s alcohol consumption. The male left their room; he later told Westlake police officers he had intended to put her in the hospital, but that he does not hit women.

On the night of April 7, unknown suspect(s) poured a soft drink on the trunk of a Meadow Lane man’s car. Last September, a tomato and golf ball were thrown at his home; the victim feels the events are related.   

Sometime on or after March 8, a Westown Boulevard man’s prescription medicines were stolen from his apartment mailbox. He reported the theft after inquiring about them on April 10 with his medical care provider. There are no suspects.

Two Lee Burneson Middle School students, one13 and one 14, brought their interpersonal squabble to a conclusion on April 10 at 1:55 p.m. at the school. The older boy started a fight with the younger one, which was broken up by another student. The suspect faces an assault charge in juvenile court.

An Annie Lane man saw a black male suspect take the US mail from the victim’s mailbox late afternoon on April 10. The victim followed the suspect’s tan Toyota to a Hidden Acres Drive residence and got the license plate number. The victim was unable to point out that house to the investigating officer; the Postal Inspection Service was contacted and the investigation continues. The plate lists to a Cleveland address. 

Three hubcaps (total value $300) were taken off a Parma woman’s 1994 Plymouth Voyager while she shopped at a Detroit Road store in Westlake. The theft occurred on April 12 between 6:45 p.m. and 10 p.m.  There are no suspects.
