Car Thief Steals Pizza Delivery Man's Vehicle

Westlake Police are looking for suspects in multiple recent thefts in the city

An unlucky pizza delivery man's car was stolen from the the Detroit Road pizza parlor where he worked at about 9:30 p.m. on March 2.

He had left the 1999 Toyota Camry running, according to Westlake Police.

The car was found at 3:11 p.m. the next day in an apartment parking lot on Marview Drive.

Other thefts in the city that police are investigating:

  • A 16-year-old Westlake girl parked her parents’ 2003 Hyundai XG35 at 8 p.m. on Feb. 26 outside of a business on Detroit Road.

The girl left the keys in the center console and the XG35 was stolen shortly thereafter, police said.

It was found two days later parked outside of a business down the street.

  • A Pebblebeach Cove home was forcibly entered through the patio door between noon on Feb. 24 and 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 25.

A thief (or thieves) stole jewelry, coins and credit cards from the house.

  • A laptop and iPad were taken between 8 and 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 27 from a 2003 Honda Pilot parked at a restaurant on Sperry Drive. The vehicle’s rear passenger-side window was broken out.
  • That same night, a 2004 Dodge Intrepid had the driver’s side rear window broken between 5 and 11:40 p.m. while the owner was at work at a restaurant on Detroit Road.
