Buying Beer, Stealing Beer and Just Being Drunk: In the Blotters

The Alcohol Leads to No Good Edition

This week in the Westlake Police blotters:

  • A 17-year-old Bay Village boy tried to buy beer with a fake ID on July 26 at 7:13 p.m. The Giant Eagle clerk working the cash register, the auxiliary officer working security, and the patrolman assigned to investigate were not fooled. The youth was turned over to his father and will be filed on in juvenile court for Certain Acts Prohibited (displaying a phony license or ID card).
  • $36 worth of beer was stolen from a Detroit Road gas station on July 27 at 8:25 p.m. The suspect is a white male in his 20s, short brown hair, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans; he left eastbound on Detroit Road in a tan or gold 4door car. 15 minutes later, a theft of beer occurred at another Detroit Road gas station; the suspect was dressed the same way.
  • An intoxicated 31-year-old guest from Virginia staying at a Clemens Road hotel thought himself quite the ladies man. He had been pestering the female clerk for sexual favors in the early morning hours of Aug. 1; he was arrested for DCI and was evicted later that day.
