Burglars Target Two Detroit Road Restaurants

Suspects stole cash and the register from A&J's Grill and broke into Cabin Club early Thursday morning.

Two Detroit Road restaurants were the targets of burglaries early Thursday morning.

A Cabin Club worker startled a burglar in the building at about 2:15 a.m. The employee described the suspect as a black man about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, said Cpt. Guy Turner. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his head and blue jeans.

The suspect had forced open the back door of the restaurant but ran when he saw realized he wasn’t alone. A Lakewood police dog unit came to help Westlake police in the search, but they were unsuccessful, according to police reports.
