Blind Date Walks Out on Check

A Concord, OH woman's blind date took a turn for the worse at about 8:30 p.m. April 4. The woman had arranged to meet a Sheffield Lake man at a Main Street restaurant, along with two of her friends.

At the restaurant, the man offered to pay for everyone's meals. After a while, he excused himself to make a phone call and disappeared, without paying the $95 bill.

The man did not answer calls from the investigating officer, but did send some derogatory texts to his date. Police will seek a warrant for petty theft.

Man Saws Off Handicapped Parking Sign

A Center Ridge Road surveillance camera recorded a man sawing off a handicapped parking sign at about 9:30 a.m. April 1. The man left the sign behind and drove off in a pickup truck. The video did not catch the license plate.
