Bike Used by Missouri Escapee Returned to Woodmill Drive Girl

Bike was stolen from an open garage Sept. 4.

Here's more good to come from the Missouri escapee caught in Westlake last week.

In addition to Westlake and surrounding police departments' proving their prowess by safely catching Brian Adkison, 23, who escaped from a Missouri jail Aug. 11 and managed to freely travel to Ohio, the bike Adkison used was returned to its rightful Sept. 4.

Adkison was chased by Westlake police Sept. 3 into Avon. He resurfaced the next day and stole a bike from a Woodmill Drive, using it as his means of escape from Westlake. He made it as far as Detroit Road when he was recognized by a citizen. The convict ran into a retirement home before being arrested following a brief struggle.

The Schwinn 15 speed Adkison was riding was returned to a Woodmill Drive man. The bike, which had been taken from his open garage earlier in the day, belonged to his daughter.

Westlake Police recovered it after Adkison dumped it while being chased by officers. Taking the bike earned Adkison a burglary charge from Westlake.

He is being held in Westlake jail on $500,000 bond awaiting extradiction.
