The overnight shootings in Aurora, Colo., at a premiere of the new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises will mean extra police at this weekend.

"We will make sure our presence is very visible," said captain Guy Turner Friday morning.

Capt. Turner said major premieres like The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers earlier this year always bring extra security to Regal Cinema, which hires off-duty Westlake police officers for security.

On-duty police will also be patrolling the theater and the surrounding area, Capt. Turner said.

"I was there early this morning, and people were having a good time," Capt. Turner said. "Obviously, they didn't know what was going on in Colorado. I saw several Batmans, some Jokers, a Riddler, and several girls doing their own thing like Batman in a tutu. I hope this doesn't change people's plans to go see and enjoy the movie. Just remember, if you see something, say something."
