An Inside Job, Skating While High, Theft

Information was provided by Westlake police.

Breaking and Entering

An employee of a Center Ridge Road gas station found the door unlocked on Aug. 21 at 5:46 a.m. $117 was missing from the cash register. The station’s camera system showed a former employee entering the station shortly after the previous night’s closing. Breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools warrants will be obtained for the 42-year-old Avon Lake woman involved.  

Skating while high 

A 23-year-old Fairview Park man wiped out while Rollerblading on the Clague Road overpass at I-90 at 6:08 a.m. Aug. 21. Marijuana and pot pipe were found in his possession, police said. He will be summonsed for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Westlake Fire Dedpartment took him to St. John Medical Center for a checkup. 

Theft

• A Dover Center Road business’s two air conditioning units were stolen on the night of Aug. 20. Unknown persons cut the water and power lines and removed the units from their pads in the rear of the building. Loss is estimated at $8,000.

• A $500 cellphone belonging to a 15-year-old Westlake boy was stolen from a locked locker at the High School on August 21 between 3P-6PM. No suspects.
