Alleged Candy Theft Thwarted

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 48-year-old North Olmsted man’s day didn’t turn out so sweet when he allegedly took two boxes of candy from a Westlake store.

Police report that the man took $55 worth of candy from a Crocker Park Boulevard store at about 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 28. He didn’t get far, though. The man was arrested nearby and charged with petty theft. The candy was returned to the store.
