About 2,000 Still Without Power in Westlake

The power could be out all weekend, according to FirstEnergy. And despite complaints about loud generators, police say they're permitted until the power is back.

FirstEnergy has posted power restoration estimates on its website, and the more than 2,000 customers in Westlake without power could still have a while to wait.

FirstEnergy estimates that the power will be restored in Westlake by Monday night. As of 4:50 p.m. Thursday, about 2,100 customers were still without power, according to FirstEnergy.

In the meantime, Westlake Police report that they have received some complaints from residents about noisy generators running during the night.

Police Capt. Guy Turner said in an email that while the department knows the generators can get loud, they are permitted to run until power is restored. The generators can help run medical equipment and other health and safety necessities.
