19-Year-Old Tries to Buy Beer with Really Bad Fake ID

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Another phony ID led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Westlake man on Aug. 13 at 9:09 p.m.  He tried to buy beer with it at a Center Ridge Road store; it was so cheap and shoddily made that it fooled no one. He was charged by Westlake Police with Misrepresentation for Underage Purchase.

Also in the blotters: Items stolen from cars

A 2013 Hyundai Sonata was entered while parked at the owner’s Detroit Road apartment complex on the night of Aug. 13. An MP3 player and gift bag were taken; the vehicle was possibly left unlocked. There are no suspects.

Travelers from New York City had clothing and jewelry taken from their vehicle at the Holiday Inn on Aug. 14 between 8 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry and no suspects.
