15-Year-Old Shooter Charged After Firing Pellet Gun in Westlake

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A teenager found out the hard way what happens when you do something stupid in a car…and the plates are clearly visible.

A motorist and a jogger reported that the occupants of a 2002 Ford were shooting a pellet or airsoft gun at them near Bradley Road and Hilliard Boulevard on July 7 at 11:03 p.m.

A license plate check led to a wake-up call to the vehicle’s Oberlin owner, whose 15-year-old son was found to be the shooter.

He will be filed on in juvenile court for Assault and Discharging a Weapon.

Also in the blotters: Smoking (pot), spitting at staff at St. John Medical Center

A 38-year-old Westlake man was self-medicating while at St. John Medical Center on July 9 at 9:45 p.m. A staffer caught him smoking marijuana in his bathroom; he was cited for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A 22-year-old Missouri woman spat on multiple St. John Medical Center staffers and also scratched one the evening of July 8. She also claimed to have a communicable disease and will be tested for it. The investigation continues by Westlake Police.
