Westlake City Schools and Common Core
Since Mays, Winter, Falcone are supporting Mr. Finucane for School Board, does this mean they also support his approval of Common Core?
. . ."I am in support of the CCS as they have been approved by the State of Ohio. . The concept behind CCS has a lot of merit and has been supported by almost all states, educators, lawmakers and many other stakeholders. . . "
Exactly who are these "stakeholders" that you "support" Mr. Finucane--Westlake needs to know who is behind this program, especially as it affects our children?
Are you alright with the fact that Common Core is a top-down approach to education reform; that the American public was not engaged in the decision-making process to adopt the CC standards; are you alright with the fact that the states were enticed to adopt the standards through (1) stimulus funding and (2) a process that completely circumvented Congress: the Administration offering No Child Left Behind waivers to states that agreed to adopt common standards?
And by supporting Mr. Finucane, does that mean that Mays, Winter, Falcone are also alright with how Common Core has been forced on America's schools?
