Menaro's Ristorante Offers Italian Dishes With Class

The restaurant in the former Frank and Pauly's location provides a menu deep in flavor and rich in choices.

With both friends and family who need gluten-free suggestions, I’m always on the lookout for places we can eat at together. To my surprise, the latest Westlake locale serving gluten-free dishes is at 25048 Sperry Rd.

After reading that they have a gluten free menu, I invited a good friend with food sensitivities to join me. It took us a few days to get our schedules together and the restaurant was great with the ever changing reservation— something they accept by calling 440-892-9090, but that wasn’t necessary.

Once we were finally able to get there, we took a seat outside— with summer nearing the end, I wasn’t going to pass up a patio— even one that over looks at parking lot and I-90.

We let our server know that we needed gluten-free menus, which she brought over right away. That menu was considerably shorter than the actual menu, but considerably longer than most. We both selected a wine, salad and a dinner.

The salads were crispy and fresh— mine was a Ceasar, while my friend had the chopped salad. Shortly after that, our meals arrived. I had the Chicken Piccata, which they kindly modified for my tastes, while my friend had gluten-free pasta with an Arrabbiata sauce also modified to be served without fish.

Both dishes were quite good— the Piccata wasn’t too lemony and my friend enjoyed the spicy heat of the Arrabbiata sauce.

For dessert we both enjoyed gelato, which was a perfect ending to the meal.

Overall, the experience at Menaro’s was positive. Service was prompt and attentive without being annoying, and the food was quite good. The portions were large and while there are number of pricier items on the extensive menu, Menaro’s could easily fit with in any price range. Next time you’re out on Sperry Drive, skip and give Menaro’s a chance.

The restaurant is open for dinner at 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and opens earlier on Sundays at 3 p.m. They close at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday with an 11 p.m. closing Friday and Saturday night.
