Gina's Place Offers Easy, Fast and Tasty Breakfasts

The Fairview Park diner has been offering the simple breakfasts and lunches for 20 years.

Sometimes, a diner is exactly what you need first thing in the morning. The kind of place where they know you by name and you can grab your usual table in the back. Gina’s Place in Fairview Park is just that kind of restaurant.

The small Fairview Park staple at 21930 Lorain Road is open for breakfast at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. on Saturday. They close after lunch at 1:30 p.m. during the week and at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

During my visiting on a recent morning, Gina was the one who served me and my friends— two Fairview Park residents who recommended it to me. The menu is simple and straight forward— simple breakfast is what they do best.

I start with coffee, which isn’t too weak or too strong and we all order two eggs, bacon and either French toast or pancakes. The service is fast and before I know it I’ve got my two over easy eggs, bacon (which wasn’t crispy enough for my tastes), French toast and an extra side of hash browns.

The eggs are cooked just right and my friend’s scrambled eggs look good too. The French toast is served with powered sugar, but that doesn’t stop me from adding butter and syrup. The French Toast is good, but not amazing. The hash browns were one of my favorite parts of the meal— not over cooked, with just the right amount of crispy.

Overall, if you’re looking for a diner, Gina’s is a great spot for a simple, fast breakfast or a place where you can hang around and talk over coffee. But don’t forget your cash or check book, Gina’s doesn’t accept credit cards, only cash or personal checks.
