Salute to Excellence
The Westlake Kiwanis Salute to Excellence was heldTuesday, May 9, 2012 at the Westlake High School Performing Arts Center. This was the 34th Annual "Salute to Excellence" This program is the Westlake Kiwanis way of recognizing the academic achievements of our community's young men and women. Tonight's honors were presented on the basis of the following unweighted scholastic grade point averages: Freshmen 4.0 and no grade below an "A", Sophoomores 3.8 orhigher, Juniors 3.7 or higher and Seniors 3.6 or higher.
Tonight's guest speaker was Andrea Rocco Westlake City Prosecutor and Special Counsel to Cuyahoga County Executive Edward FitzGerald.
As a service organization Kiwanis looks to future generations to carry on the task of service to community. As a recipient of the honors we humbly bestowed on you tonight, we feel secure in the knowledge that our youth, given the opportunity, will, through individual effort, accomplish their goals.
