The Westlake School Board has released program options for Kindergarten for the 2011-2012 School Year.

Last week following the meeting at the school board approved 3-2 to offer the option of.

The core kindergarten program will still be the half-day option. There was a split between those wanting full day and those opting for half day.

All parents of incoming kindergarten students were sent a package, where they were to fill out what option they want. There is a $200 non-refundable deposit due by June 10th. The full-day classes are on a first-come, first-served basis.

There will be a 20-25-child cap in full day. That means if a parent wants the full-day option they can put down the deposit and pick their home school. If their home school meets the cap before that parent can get in, and if there is another school that has an opening, that parent will have the option of sending their child to the other school. They will need to provide their own transportation.
