Get Educated About the Upcoming School Board Election

Blogger Gail Golembiewski is paying close attention to the Nov. 8 school board election.

As a parent with 2 children in the school district I have a vested interest in who gets elected to the school board, and what issues the school board will face that affects me and my family directly.

Within the next month, the candidates that are running are going to be making the rounds at PTA meetings at each of the schools, while this is fine and a great way to find out what these candidates stand for, they will only have three minutes to state their case and no questions can be asked.

To me this is not the way to address these issues that are on the minds of district parents and community. With all the changes that have taken place within the district this past year I believe we as parents and those in the community need to know where these candidates stand on the various issues that are important to us.

I have met all the candidates while I have been out and about and they all bring different ideas and values and each possess the qualities that I want on the school board that makes important decisions on my children's education. So I am going to be paying close attention to everyone and base my decision on the candidates that meet my expectations for what I expect on the school board.

So starting tomorrow I will be highlighting a different school board candidate so please stay tuned to learn more about those folks that will be making the decisions regarding our children's education.
