Election Is Over ... Now It's Time To Get Back To What's Important

The campaigning is over, the votes have been counted and the right people were voted into office. Before I get lots of mean replies, I made no secret that I supported Tom Mays, Carol Winter and Anthony Falcone for the school board. I got a lot of grief for these choices but I do not regret putting my faith and support behind these three individuals to make sure my children get the education that I want for them.

There has been a lot of name calling, mud slinging and just down right nastiness and there was really no need for it. After all, the important thing is, and should always be, the rights of our children to get the best education that they can, and they can get that here in Westlake.

I always believed that if something is not broke, don't fix it, and with the re-election of Tom Mays and Carol Winter, as well as the addition of Anthony Falcone the school board can get back to the important things. Together with Dr. Dan Keenan we have a school board that puts the needs of the students first and will do all they can to help keep this district going in the direction that the citizens and parents want.

Those that were not elected, I hope that you will step up and support the school board, as it takes an entire community to do what is right. The time for arguing and sour grapes is over. We have a chance to take Westlake to the next level and I for one am looking forward to seeing all the things that the board and school district have coming for our children.

As I said let's band together and get back to the business of educating our children!
