Parents of Children of Color in the Special Needs World: Unique Challenges and Opportunities

What are the common concerns parents of color face while
raising children with special needs?

Join us as we explore this topic in an interactive group setting, reflecting on our own experiences within the African-American, Arabic and Hispanic communities.  Participants will be encouraged to discuss how these challenges have impacted their personal life.  Led by Tiffany Williams, M.Ed., PC, Behavioral Health Services of Greater Cleveland, the goals of this session are to connect you with other families in similar situations and to teach you healthy coping strategies for dealing with your emotions.

Opportunities identified during the discussion group will help Connecting For Kids develop programs and services for parents of children of color, including groups for children that are African-American, Arabic and Hispanic. We invited
parents to attend as well as caregivers such as grandparents and sitters.
