Complimentary Skin Cancer Screenings at July 2013 Festival of the Arts

A skin cancer screening only takes a few minutes, yet it could save
your life. Westlake, Ohio dermatologist Richard Assaf M.D. is offering
free skin cancer screenings on July 13 and 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in
Auditorium B of St. John Medical Center, Westlake, Ohio on 29000 Center
Ridge Rd. as part of the Festival of the Arts. These screenings are
open to the public on a first come, first seen basis - sign up sheet at
the event.

Richard Assaf M.D. has been offering highly popular skin cancer
screenings at this summer event for several years. The festival
features live musical entertainment, a variety of food stations,
hands-on children’s activities and 200+ craftspeople on the beautiful
park-like grounds of St. John Medical Center. It’s pleasant to
coordinate a summer festival with education about skin health.

“Skin cancer is unique in that it is the only cancer you can see on
the surface of the skin. A skin cancer screening is a visual,
non-invasive exam that only takes a few minutes, yet it could save a
person’s life,” said Dr. Assaf. “One person dies from melanoma, the
deadliest form of skin cancer, every hour. Yet melanoma is often
successfully treated, if caught early.” This program offers the
opportunity to educate the public about skin cancer prevention and early
detection while saving lives by finding skin cancers in their earliest,
most treatable stages.
