Voluntary Recall Issued on Excedrin, Bufferin, NoDoz and Gas-X

Bottles may contain broken or stray pills

Drugmaker Novartis is voluntarily recalling bottles of Excedrin, NoDoz, Gas-X-Prevention and Bufferin in the U.S. because they may contain stray pills or broken or chipped tablets.

Select bottles of these over the counter medications are under recall after an internal review and complaints of "broken gelcaps, chipped tablets and inconsistent bottle packaging line clearance practices" where inspectors could not rule out the possibility of pills getting into the wrong bottles, according to a release from the company.

The company has not received any complaints about the possible mix-ups or broken tablets and says there have been no reports of health issues leading to the recall.
