One of the sights I will never forget is watching New York Harbor fill up like a bathtub, and then overflow.
My husband and I watched from our Jersey City hotel, which was right on the water at Exchange Place, as Hurricane Sandy raged outside and the water kept coming. And coming. Eventually, it came into the hotel.
