This Week: Green Bows, Eliot Ness and More

Here are five things you should know this week.

1) and the Westlake Historical Society are coming together to present "" at 7 p.m. Monday night. Michael Goldstein, an instructor at Cuyahoga Community College, will talk about Cleveland history and the untouchable Ness. The historical society will provide coffee, tea and refreshments for the talk, which will be held in the Dover Meeting Room of the library. Register online, or call the library at 440-721-1201.

2) Have you yet? To celebrate the bicentennial citywide, residents are being encouraged to put a green bow on their mailboxes, or wherever it can be displayed. If you put up a green bow, send a photo to the historical society at westlakehistory@yahoo.com and it might be included in a poster.

3) The end of the first grading period is this Friday at Westlake city schools, so be on the lookout for report cards soon.

4) The weather this week will stay cold and cloudy through Saturday, with a chance of snow on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The high will stick around 60 degrees until Thursday when it drops to about 50 degrees.
