5 Things to Know Today: Friday, May 20

Cleveland Museum of Art treasure hunts, rummage sales, good weather, library adventures and cyclones await you and the family this weekend.

1) The weekend has arrived, the weather has improved and the Cleveland Museum of Art may have just the right event to mix up your family routine. On every Wednesday and Friday, CMA hosts a treasure hunt for children and parents who are in search of a little adventure and a good deal of history. Simply grab a treasure map from the lobby information desk, explore the museum and follow the clues. General admission is free, and this enriching event runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

2) All’s clearance on the western front as Avon United Methodist Church holds its Spring Rummage Sale today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Decorative and household goods, clothing, toys, tools and various items will be up for sale as well as refreshments, homemade soups, sandwiches and baked goods. Admission is free. For more information, call 440-934-5121. 

3) With only a 30 percent chance of rain today, the spring forecast is looking up for Westlake. Temperatures will peak at 67 degrees and fall slightly, to 57, around nightfall.

4) If those Barney DVD’s are getting a bit outdated, it may be time for your children to discover a different kind of playtime, with songs, rhymes and toys at the . Don’t be late because this event only runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Dover Meeting Room. To register children ages 2 to 5, call 440-871-2600.

5) “Tornado Alley” is here. Come experience this anticipated movie and travel through America’s heartland during cyclone season. Get ready to be blown away in this explosive film narrated by Bill Paxton. Call 216-694-2000 for information. $9.95 Adult; $8.95 Senior 65+; $8.95 Student; $7.95 Youth (2-18). Repeat showings at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
