WCPN: Virtual Funerals Featured at Berry & Martens Funeral Home
By offering webcasts of funeral services, out-of-town mourners who can't make it to the services can participate, reported the local NPR affiliate.
Daniel Berry of Berry & Martens Funeral Home in Westlake, was one of two funeral directors featured in a WCPN story about webcasting funeral services.
And although Berry offers it to his customers, it isn't used frequently, he told WCPN, because in-person services are still very important to mourners.
Also featured was Cleveland Heights funeral home Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz, and one of their virtual funerals was included in the story.

The new concept was introduced through the help of the company National Webcast, which is bringing the technology to funeral homes across the country at an increasing rate.
