Pedigree Canned Dog Food Recalled

Plastic bits got into the dog food.

A few kinds of Pedigree canned dog food have been recalled after bits of plastic got into the food, creating a choking hazard for dogs, maker Mars Petcare has announced.

According to a statement from Mars Petcare, small pieces of blue plastic got into the food during production. The company added the cause of the plastic getting into the food has been found and fixed.

No dogs have been reported injured or sickened, but some dog owners have reported finding the pieces.

The canned foods affected by the recall are:

  • Pedigree+ Healthy Weight Premium Ground Entrée in Meaty Juices (UPC 2310034974)
  • Pedigree Weight Management Meaty Ground Dinner Beef & Liver Dinner in Meaty Juices (UPC 2310001913)
  • Pedigree Weight Management Meaty Ground Dinner Chicken & Rice Dinner in Meaty Juices (UPC 2310023045)

All three will have a "best by" date of between 2/24/2014 and 3/23/2014.

The affected foods were distributed throughout the United States. If you have one of the recalled foods, either throw it out or return it to the store where you bought it for a refund or exchange.

I think Enterprise was going to move there, since BMW is moving to where Enterprise is.
