Emerald has been chosen as the 2013 Color of the Year by Pantone, the company seen as the authority on color and color trends.
Described by Pantone as a "lively, radiant, lush green," Emerald is associated with new life, beauty, growth, renewal and prosperity.

This means we'll be seeing a lot of Emerald in clothing, accessories, home furnishings and home accessories in the coming months.
"Balanced yet sophisticated, Emerald enlivens all colors in the spectrum," a statement from Pantone said. It can be a punch of color in eyeshadow or nail polish, or a room-brighener at home in bedding, towels or an accent wall.
