Hyland Software's Annual Hy-5 Race Set for Saturday

Runners and walkers will raise funds for pediatrics, rehabilitation and cancer treatment at MetroHealth.

The is back. ’s 5K run and 1-mile walk to benefit is coming up Saturday. The third annual race will help raise funds for MetroHealth’s pediatrics, rehabilitation and cancer center.

Patients from MetroHealth’s cancer, pediatrics and rehab departments will be there to cheer on the runners and walkers. And for the kids, there will be two playgrounds, a bounce house and more. Runners receive breakfast and a technical running shirt while supplies last.

The course begins at Hyland Software and goes down Clemens Road to Westchester Parkway. Runners then turn around back onto Westchester, right onto Ranney Parkway and along Bessett Road to Crocker Road and back to Hyland Software.

Hyland will give awards to the top 5K male and female finishers, the top male and female Masters and the top three finishers in the each of the 12 age divisions.

Advance registration is available online at the Hermes Sports & Events website. Cost is $20 for adults in either race, and $10 for children 12 and under.

Race day registration at Hyland Software is $25 for adults in either race and $10 for children 12 and under. Packet pickup and late registration are from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Hyland Software.

Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. The chip-timed 5K race starts at 9 a.m., followed by the 1-mile walk at 9:05 a.m.
