Get Out: Wine, Arts and Late Summer Picnics

Not sure what to do once the work week is over? We've got some ideas to keep you busy this weekend.

It’s Friday, and you have no idea what to do for the weekend. Not to worry, just check our picks for the activities to hit on your time off. 

1. CROCKER PARK WINE FESTIVAL

Where/When: , 189 Crocker Park Blvd., Westlake, OH 44145, Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Why Go: The first annual Crocker Park Wine Festival will showcase over 100 wines from local, national and international producers. Guests will enjoy music, entertainment, food, wine, seminars, artists and various raffles throughout the weekend. Proceeds will go to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Pricing: Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. One ticket buys you 10 tastings and a souvenir wine glass. Additional tastings are 10 for $5 at the event. Weekend passes are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. For tickets and more info visit: www.crockerparkwinefestival.com

2. DOVER CHURCH OUTDOOR PICNIC

Where/When: , 2239 Dover Center Rd., Westlake, OH 44145, Sunday from 12:30 to 4 p.m.

Why Go: For its 200th birthday, Dover Church will hold an old-fashioned outdoor picnic. There will be music and games for the children, and friends and former members of Dover Church are invited to celebrate as well. Reservations are a must. Call the church office at 440-871-1050.

3. CROCKER PARK FALL ARTS FEST

Where/When: , 228 Market St., Westlake, OH 44145, all day Saturday and Sunday.

Why Go: The Fall Arts Fest features works from more than 60 artists, and includes jewelry, ceramics, paintings, glass, photography, fiber, wood and so much more. Artists, who were assembled by the The Guild of Artists & Artisans, will line Main Street over the weekend.

4. BELGIAN BEER TASTING

Where/When: , 26179 Detroit Rd., Westlake, OH 44145, Friday 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: In addition to selling beer, wine and cigars, the Fine Wine & Tobacoo store offers libation tastings for those who want to perfect their palates.
