The company will add a 195-sq.-ft. addition to the west side of the building for a stairwell that will connect the second floor to the basement.

Westlake City Council held a public hearing for the business to obtain a conditional use permit from an office building to a credit union, financial institution.

Certain stipulations come with the plan. There will be no freestanding ATM machine, the location will require four additional parking spaces and any exterior illumination must face Detroit Road.

Council approved the conditional use plan. A timeline has not been established yet.

Westlake’s Planning Commission will now need to review the development plan for the credit union at its July 15 meeting before the project moves forward.

Council president Michael Killeen said council would vote on the development plan on July 18, following the planning commission meeting.
