Youth Bands Will Battle for Studio Time at Westlake Porter Public Library

Six groups will compete on Friday afternoon for the chance to record and sell a song on iTunes.

Six local bands are going head to head on Friday at the Battle of the Bands. Dempsey Hall, Krych Sisters, Lumpia, The Sludge, Texting While Driving and The Triptyx (all made up of musicians between 12 and 18) will be putting on their best show for the grand prize.

The winning act will get eight hours of recording time at Playroom Studios in North Ridgeville and the opportunity to sell a song on iTunes. The runner-up will get a $100 gift certificate to Guitar Center of North Olmsted.

The battle starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. on the lawn, so be sure to bring a chair or blanket. No tickets or reservations are required. In the event of rain, the show will be moved inside.
